Day 5

Back to the 30 day thing.  Hope you enjoyed the detour.  Day 5 is a favorite quote.

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.  they must be felt with the heart." - Helen Keller
"Become the change you want to see in the world." - Ghandi

Makin Music

Everyone should probably go HERE and play with this thing.  I found it and I am amazed.  I could probably play with it all day.  Just click on a box, and ta-da! music!  I feel like Beethoven.

Seriously?

Here's some stuff that happened in church today.
Two different people welcomed us to the ward.  We've been in the ward since June.
An old man passed out right after the sacrament, and Sam and I both heard someone say "Oh SH**!"  We laughed a little bit until we realized what was going on.
Sam went home after Sacrament meeting because he has to work tonight. =(
I had zero little kids in my primary class today, which is kind of sad because we were going to make pinwheels today and I was excited.  I went home after sharing time.

So pretty much some crappy stuff happened at church today.  I'll probably get struck down by lightning for admitting this, but I kinda can't wait to move out of this ward.  I don't really feel "at home" here, and I'm just ready to move on and feel like I'm a part of a ward family again.

A favorite TV program

I don't know what I'd do without Hulu and Netflix.  Well, actually I do know, I'd watch a lot less TV.  But since I am blessed with these two things, I am blessed with these shows.  Which I watch every week.  Usually when Sam is at work and I have nothing else to do.  Which is pretty much always.  So yeah.  I like TV.  I've also heard great things about Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory.  However, those aren't available to watch instantly through Netfilx and I'm not much for starting a series on season 3, so Hulu doesn't help much there.  So I'll just wait till I have nothing in my Netfilx queue and get them in the mail.  Someday.  But until then, I'll watch these shows religiously, thank you very much.

Day tres

Ok I've got to be honest, i'm feeling kinda like this whole "30 day challenge" thing is a huge bandwagon.  But in my defense, I started doing this blogging 30 days thing before the facebook 30 days fad started.  So i'm not backing down.  Day 3 is a favorite book. Again with the favorite nonsense!  this one is pretty much a no-brainer for me though.
I LOVE the Harry Potter books.  I just can't think of any other books that I've enjoyed as much as these.  I admit, I was a huge twilight fan, but the movies totally ruined the books for me. It's kinda like ever since seeing the first two movies (still haven't seen eclipse) I feel embarrassed to admit that I've read/enjoyed the books.  Speaking of Harry Potter and Twilight, here is a blog post concerning the two subjects that I think you'll enjoy.
Other books worthy of mentioning:
  • The Host
  • The Hunger Games (mostly just the first book though, I was kinda disappointed with the last two)
  • The Chronicles of Narnia
  • Children of the Promise
  • Hearts of the Children
  • Pride & Prejudice
  • Green Eggs & Ham
Ok I'm drawing a blank.  I've read A LOT of books, most of them good, but none are coming to mind right now, hence the reason I added Green Eggs & Ham to my list... even though it does hold a special place in my heart.
